Spiced Sweet Corn Kernels – Inspiration from Streetfoods in Chennai

Spiced Sweet Corn Kernels: I have tasted these from the street food stalls in chennai and they taste absolutely divine. I give boiled sweet corns to my kid sometimes in the evening considering it as an healthy option as compared to the fried snacks. As my kid is growing, her taste level is also changing. More recently, she is lil fussy in eating boiled corns or chickpeas. So, I spiced the corns this time and she loved it. I have given here the kids version. I prefer adding more spices and lil bit of lemon juice.

Spiced sweet corns kernels

Ingredients:
1 cup boiled sweet corn kernels
1/2 tspn cummin pepper powder
1/2 tblspn butter
Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Pressure cook the sweet corn cobs for three whistle.
  2. Let the cobs cool off slightly. Shredd the kernels into a bowl.
  3. Add and mix cummin pepper powder, salt and butter with the sweet corn kernels.
  4. Serve as evening snack for kids

Note: Alternately, the sweet corn kernels could be shredded first and then steamed in an idli steamer. This way we could make really hot sweet corn kernels.
