Bitter Gourd Fry:
For people who have aversion towards bitter gourd, this is a must try recipe.
Ingredients:
3 bitter gourd
1/2 tbl spn: Chilli powder
1/4 tspn : Turmeric powder
1/2 tbl spn: fennel seeds
2 tbl spn: oil
salt to taste
Method:
1. Boil water in a vessel. When the water starts vaporizing, switch off the stove. Add 1 tbl spn salt and 1/4 ts spn turmeric to water and then add the bitter gourds(each cut into two pieces).
2. After 5-10 mins remove bitter gourd from the water. Scrap the central portion that consist of seeds using back of a small spoon or a knife. Now you would get nice round shaped pieces as you cut across the length of the bitter gourd
2. Heat oil in a pan and add the fennel seeds. And then add the bitter gourd and a bit of salt. Let it simmer for 10-15 mins – stir it occasionally. When it truns brown, switch off the stove. Now add the chilli powder and stir it.
This tastes good with sambar rice.
